Our take on Imprisoned Light
The dramatic kingdom-saving premise suggests a broad fantasy campaign, while the actual play centers on feeding crystals with enemy souls and stopping monsters in discrete levels. Local co-op can also turn an unprotected crystal into a forced fight between players.
What is Imprisoned Light?
Imprisoned Light is an action RPG about defending a kingdom’s light crystals from demons and other monsters.
Each level contains at least one crystal that must be supplied with souls collected from defeated enemies. A level is completed after all its crystals are saved; additional crystals become immune once protected. The game includes 5 worlds, 50 levels, randomly generated level layouts, 5 playable characters with distinct special powers, 18 throwable weapons, potions, and power-ups. Local co-op supports revival through collected souls. If crystals are not protected, a demon can select a victim and force players into a fight against one another.
How Imprisoned Light plays
- 01Crystal Defense
- Players gather souls from defeated enemies and use them to protect each crystal before monsters destroy it.
- 02Randomized Levels
- The game distributes its 50 levels across 5 worlds with changing layouts that reduce repeated play of the same stage.
- 03Five Playable Characters
- Ranger, Knight, Wizard, Necromancer, and another character each use distinct special powers.
- 04Local Co-op
- A fallen player can return to the action by collecting souls.
- 05Throwable Weapons
- The arsenal includes 18 throwable weapons, alongside potions and power-ups.
