Our take on Image
Instead of framing horror around fighting threats, Image makes its ghosts observers and uses a shifting house as the main source of uncertainty. Progress centers on finding five artifacts and forming a pentagram, replacing a combat-focused structure with exploration.
What is Image?
Image is a first-person psychological horror game set in a haunted house.
Players control Sam, a 10-year-old boy who wakes at night while waiting for his family and goes to look for them. The house changes as ghosts trigger paranormal events; they observe or frighten Sam but cannot harm him. Players explore corridors and rooms, interact with objects, and search for five artifacts. Bringing the artifacts together to form a pentagram opens a path toward the mystery and Sam’s family.
The game has no weapons for defense and uses keyboard and mouse controls. Its environments can feel random and confusing, with rooms presenting different parts of the house’s eerie story. The game includes flashing lights, loud sounds, and frequent jump scares.
