Our take on Icarus-X: Tides of Fire
The campaign receives most of the feature emphasis, but the other main mode is a strict arcade shooter built around one-hit deaths, score chains, and continuing resets. That split makes the game’s overall structure less like a conventional ARPG than the campaign’s loot and skill systems may suggest.
What is Icarus-X: Tides of Fire?
Icarus-X: Tides of Fire is a vertical shoot ’em up with Arcade and Campaign modes.
Arcade Mode uses one-hit deaths, combo-based scoring, in-game power-ups, replays, and leaderboards. Players can choose Casual, Normal, or Hardcore sub-modes; Casual has no death penalty and Hardcore uses permanent death. The campaign includes four difficulty tiers, randomly generated enemy waves, evolving special powers, world rankings, and equipment with four quality levels.
