Our take on HUNGER
The store presentation establishes a bleak survival premise and several threats, but gives little concrete information about the actions, systems, or progression that structure play. The narrative setup is clearer than the practical shape of the game.
What is HUNGER?
HUNGER is a survival game about a lone soldier abandoned on an unexplored island.
Settlers live there, but their civilization is breaking down after a pandemic causes illness, deaths, disorder, and chaos. Some inhabitants become violent cannibals, while shamans from several tribes attempt to create a medicine without success. The island is also marked by madness and despair. The story centers on survival in this infected world, where people must set aside old conflicts and unite against the spreading danger. The game presents a narrative focused on isolation, disease, tribal communities, cannibalism, and the struggle to endure amid a civilization approaching extinction.
