Our take on Hookshot
The bounce point arrives when the one-button controls meet rotating layouts, moving spike balls, and timed doors. Players who enjoy the simple starting levels but do not want increasingly demanding timing and precision may stop as the hazards become more complex.
What is Hookshot?
Hookshot is an arcade puzzle-platform game where a ball or square climbs through stages by firing a hook into walls.
The ball can travel in any direction, while the square moves along four paths. As levels progress, they add hazards and changing features, including platforms that shift position, spike traps, blocks that vanish, surfaces that provide a burst of speed, layouts that turn, moving spiked spheres, and doors activated by timers. Play uses a single button, while later stages call for tighter timing and more precise moves.
The goal is to finish each level without colliding with hazards. Its minimalist presentation accompanies a sequence of increasingly demanding stages, with the two movement options offering different ways to cross each puzzle area.
How Hookshot plays
- 01Two movement modes
- The ball can move in every direction, while the square travels along four directions.

- 03Dynamic hazards

- 04Single-button control
- One button controls the game, while successful navigation depends on timing and precision.
