Our take on IsoCubes
The presentation emphasizes simple goals and approachable controls, but later stages add spawning cubes, conveyors, elevation changes, and failure from incorrect movement or falls. The central experience is a progressively constrained spatial puzzle sequence rather than a broad strategy game.
What is IsoCubes?
IsoCubes is an isometric puzzle game built around moving cubes onto matching targets.
Blue cubes can be selected and moved to push green cubes, while misplaced cubes or cubes falling from the platform end the level. Later puzzles add purple cubes that create more green cubes, conveyor belts that shift cubes between locations, and elevation changes requiring movement between higher and lower areas. The game contains 46 puzzles with increasing difficulty, and completing a level grants an achievement. Controller play is supported throughout. Its structure centers on learning how each cube type and environmental element affects movement, then applying those mechanics to place the starred green cubes on their targets.
How IsoCubes plays
- 01Special cube mechanics
- Purple cubes can generate additional green cubes, adding new conditions to later puzzles.
- 02Conveyor belt movement
- Some levels use conveyor belts to carry cubes to different positions.
- 03Elevation changes
- Puzzle layouts include vertical differences that require cubes to move between levels.
- 04Level achievements
- Each completed puzzle awards an achievement.
- 05Controller support
- All puzzles can be played with a controller.
