Our take on HoloParade
The game trades broad character freedom for stage-specific planning: favorite characters can carry a formation through the end credits, but later high-difficulty stages require teams tailored to their enemies.
What is HoloParade?
HoloParade is a 2D tower defense game based on hololive characters and mascots.
Players collect characters, improve them through levels, limit breaking, and selectable skills, then summon them from a base to advance toward and destroy an enemy base. Stages vary in their characteristics, while characters have different strengths and weaknesses, making formations and summoning order important. The Symphony Effect activates bonuses based on the instruments played by marching characters. The game includes over 65 characters, a ticket-based scout system with two randomly selected candidates, and no stamina system or additional gacha purchases. An office area contains voice lines, character appearances, and two mini-games that award coins for strengthening characters.
How HoloParade plays
- 01Character development
- Each character can be leveled, limit-broken, and given up to three selected skills.
- 02Formation strategy
- Stage traits and character strengths or weaknesses require different groupings, especially in later high-difficulty stages.
- 03Symphony effects
- The instruments carried by marching characters determine effects that add another consideration to squad composition and summoning order.
- 04Ticket-based scouting
- In-game tickets provide access to two randomly selected character candidates from which a character can be chosen.
- 05Office mini-games
- Hurry Up! Miko-Chi! and Dancing Subaru provide alternate activities that award coins used for character strengthening.
- 06Resettable progression
- Character levels can be reset with a full refund of the coins spent.
