A photograph can erase the captured bullets and inflict greater damage on a boss when the boss is near the center of the frame. The photo gauge fills automatically and must reach 100% before a picture can be taken.
Holding Slow and Photo charges it faster, but prevents shooting during the charge. Recorded photos receive scores based on factors including the number of captured bullets, whether the boss appears, and whether Sumireko is visible. Story progression does not require clearing every dream scene.
