Our take on Graze Counter
The listing gives substantial attention to the dramatic hostage scenario, but the playable scope is a compact shoot-'em-up: five stages, eight fighters, and a set of additional challenge modes. The story premise is therefore much broader than the campaign structure presented.
What is Graze Counter?
Graze Counter is a shoot-'em-up set in the 23rd century, where two pilots fight a virtual network holding 2.
4 million civilians hostage. Near-misses with enemy bullets fill the Graze Counter Gauge, which powers counterattacks. Enemies and countered bullets release stars that charge a Break Gauge; filling it activates Break Mode for increased damage. The game includes eight fighters, with two available initially and six unlocked through play. Their traits include spread shots, high movement speed, close-range attacks, auto-attacking bits, blade bits, constant Break Mode power, and high firepower. The campaign has five stages and three difficulty settings: Novice, Arcade, and Expert. Additional modes include a tutorial, mission challenges, and a timed boss rush. Gamepad support and key remapping are included.
