Our take on Hero Emblems II
Players who do not enjoy Match-3 systems may hit the wall as soon as battles require emblem removal to attack. Those who ignore enemy resistances and weaknesses may also struggle when combat shifts from basic matching to elemental planning.
What is Hero Emblems II?
Hero Emblems II combines Japanese-style RPG progression with side-scrolling exploration and Match-3 combat.
The Night Chasers travel through caves and ancient ruins, open treasure chests, encounter monsters, visit villages, purchase equipment, and gather information from villagers in taverns. Battles use emblem matching: removing groups lets heroes attack, while Magic Emblems enable character skills. Combos produce stronger attacks. Party members have different stories and abilities, including a Human Warrior, Marten Knight, Kittie Black Mage, and Frogkin Bard, allowing substitutions between battles. Enemy resistances and weaknesses add an elemental consideration to combat. The story follows four young members of the new Night Chasers after they rescue an elf girl with no memories.
