Our take on Headspun
The premise emphasizes a mystery around Theo’s accident, but the described play also spends time rebuilding Cortex through staff hiring and renovations. That management layer is part of the core activity, alongside the dialogue and memory-search story.
What is Headspun?
Headspun is a live-action video and adventure game set inside Theo Kavinsky’s mind.
After Theo wakes from a five-week coma with his life in disrepair and no memory of the accident, Ted, his rational inner voice, directs efforts to repair Cortex and uncover what happened. Teddy, Theo’s emotional subconscious, can disagree with Ted’s choices. Players make decisions in branching dialogue, rebuild Cortex by hiring staff and commissioning renovations, and recover lost memories connected to the accident. The story centers on recovery and the tension between logic and emotion, with an original synthwave soundtrack by Soho Loop.
