We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Horror fans who want cooperative investigations with up to three other players
- Solo players who prefer searching and banishing entities without a team
- Groups seeking an asymmetric mode where one player controls the supernatural threat
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a directed horror campaign rather than repeated investigations with randomized item locations
- Those who prefer fixed difficulty and match rules instead of adjustable AI and custom 4v1 settings
- Players looking for a non-horror adventure without entities, haunted locations, or escape mechanics
Our take on Haunt Chaser
The focus on cooperative investigation and asymmetric matches trades away a more directed solo structure. Randomized locations and adjustable rules add variation, but the experience centers on repeating searches, equipment use, and entity encounters.
What is Haunt Chaser?
Haunt Chaser is a horror game for up to four cooperative players, with a single-player option and a 4v1 mode.
Chasers investigate an abandoned village and orphanage, search for items, reveal hidden information, free tormented spirits, and banish the evil affecting the area. Equipment includes cameras, EMF readers, a parabolic microphone, a sigil, a magical ward, and a proton light. These tools support investigation, detecting entities, hiding, escape, and temporarily stopping evil. Players can cooperate or act alone, with the banishing challenge changing accordingly.
AI difficulty has several settings, from Very Easy to Insane. Randomized item locations and events alter each session. In 4v1 mode, one player controls an entity while the others play as Chasers, with adjustable skill cooldowns, revive counts, haunting voice settings, and proton light cooldowns.
