Our take on Hard Reset Redux
The feature list emphasizes additions and revisions to an existing shooter, while the core offering remains a single-player campaign. The new weapon and movement option change combat choices, but the store copy does not describe a different campaign structure or a multiplayer mode.
What is Hard Reset Redux?
Hard Reset Redux is a single-player shooter set in a future where machines threaten humanity’s last city, Bezoar.
Players take the role of Maj. Fletcher, a soldier sent into combat after the city’s protective barrier is breached. The campaign pits him against machine forces and includes large enemy groups, destructible environments, and a range of weapons. This edition adds a close-range cyber-katana, a quick-dash move, and a new cyborg-zombie enemy type. It also updates the visuals and effects, changes enemy placement, and adjusts difficulty and pacing. A quicksave feature, joypad support, and faster loading are included. The story centers on the machines’ attempt to take control of a network containing billions of digitized human minds.
