Our take on HappyFunland
The bounce point arrives when the rides shift into high-speed, turbulent VR movement. Players prone to motion sickness may find the experience difficult at that stage, while users without Vive, Valve Index, or Quest 2-through-Oculus-Link controls stop before play begins.
What is HappyFunland?
HappyFunland is a darkly comic VR horror experience set in the abandoned HappyFunland theme park in South Florida.
The story begins after meeting Larry in a swamp and accepting a job connected to the park’s tragic history. Exploration leads through the remains of Mort Grisly’s amusement park and its attractions, including a pirate-themed boat ride, a haunted manor, a squirrel-themed dark ride, and a whimsical world ride. The experience presents ghosts, grisly secrets, and high-speed, turbulent sequences. VR motion controllers are required. Supported controller setups include Vive and Valve Index controllers, plus Quest 2 when connected through Oculus Link. The game warns that its intense motion may cause sickness for some users.
