ActionIs Guntech 2 worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Twin-stick shooter fans who want to steer and thrust a ship while aiming a separate weapon
- Local groups of up to 4 players who have game controllers
- Score-focused arcade players who want to compete for leaderboard positions
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want a forgiving arcade run may hit a wall when lives carry across levels and running out ends the run.
- Players who prefer a short, flat difficulty curve may find the challenge rises after the tutorial as the worlds progress.
- Groups wanting local multiplayer without controllers cannot use keyboard and mouse for the other players.
Our take on Guntech 2
The control setup is the likely sticking point for local groups: keyboard input is limited to the first player, so the moment a second player joins, controllers are required. Arcade runs add another pressure point because lives do not reset between levels.
What is Guntech 2?
Guntech 2 is a twin-stick shooter with ship steering, thrust, and three weapons.
The railgun can aim independently, while two other weapons fire toward the ship’s nose. It supports single-player and couch co-op for up to 4 players; local multiplayer requires controllers, while keyboard and mouse are available only to the first player. Five worlds contain 8 levels each, followed by a boss level. Adventure mode lets players revisit unlocked levels, with lives renewed at each level and three goals to pursue. Arcade mode starts at the first level of an unlocked world, uses a shared set of lives, and tracks scores on a leaderboard. The game has 20 weapons, seasonal missions, and hidden treasures.
