Our take on Gunscape
Rather than treating level design as a separate editor, Gunscape makes construction part of the FPS itself. It replaces a fixed sequence of authored stages with player-built campaigns, cooperative maps, arenas, and a shared catalogue of public levels.
What is Gunscape?
Gunscape is a first-person shooter construction game built around placing blocks to create playable worlds.
Maps can form single-player campaigns, branching level sequences, cooperative challenges, or multiplayer arenas. Editing can take place solo, in split-screen, or online with collaborators, with action testing available during construction. Players who prefer combat can play through monster-filled maps or compete against others. A built-in browser provides access to public creations, with filters and voting for shared levels. World themes supply building pieces, characters, enemies, bosses, music, skyboxes, traps, teleporters, and weapons. Multiplayer includes eight match modes, including free-for-all, team deathmatch, capture-the-flag variants, king of the hill, domination, and tag or infection variants.
