Our take on GULLET
The defining detail is the descent control: adjusting the laser tether grip changes movement speed while the same battery powers the tether, flashlight, and flare gun.
What is GULLET?
Descend into a gigantic mouth in GULLET, a demanding solo cosmic-horror exploration game set after an unexplained event leaves most people gone and raises the seas.
Rappelling speed depends on grip pressure, controlled through held keys or an analog trigger. The flashlight, laser line, and D. O. T. S. flare gun draw from one battery, which can be replenished with a charger. With nearly no HUD, the game places clues and interactions within the surroundings. A few-hour campaign supports repeated play, building suspense through a gradual journey into darkness and hazards.
How GULLET plays
- 01Variable Descent Control
- Held keys or an analog trigger adjust tether grip, jump strength, and descent speed.
- 02Shared Battery Management
- The flashlight, laser tether, and D.O.T.S. flare gun draw from one power source.
- 03In-World Information
- Interactions and information appear within the environment instead of through a substantial HUD.
- 04Battery Recharging
- A charger passes ions over a lithium-ion strip to restore battery charge.
