Our take on Grow Up
The defining structure is traversal by transformation: BUD alternates between walking, rolling in Ball mode, gliding between islands, and riding Starplants to reach MOM’s scattered ship parts.
What is Grow Up?
Grow Up follows BUD, a small robot searching an alien planet for pieces of MOM, his parental spaceship, after it breaks apart.
The game centers on exploration across a world filled with plants, wildlife, floating islands, and obstacles. BUD can switch into Ball mode to gain speed, bounce, and roll across the terrain. The Power Glider lets him travel through the air between islands, while the Floradex 3000 allows plants found during exploration to be recreated for overcoming obstacles. Players can also ride giant Starplants upward. POD accompanies BUD during the search for MOM’s scattered parts, with the overall objective of bringing the ship pieces back to the moon.
