Our take on Grizzland
Rather than using quest markers to direct movement, Grizzland leaves quest instructions for players to interpret. Its connected world also keeps unlocked areas accessible, shifting exploration away from a sequence of separate, loading-screen-bound zones.
What is Grizzland?
Grizzland is a platformer built around exploring a connected world and fighting dinosaurs.
Unlocked areas remain accessible, and players can move between them without loading screens. Quests provide no markers, so players must read them and work out what to do. Many locations are optional, including hidden areas that reveal parts of the game world’s story. Progress depends on skills, items, and passive abilities; some items are required for basic movement, including jumping. Combat involves sword swings, jumps, and slashes, while the game also features transformations such as shrinking, enlarging, and recombining. Its visual design uses a 128x96-pixel resolution and five colours.
