Our take on Graywalkers: Purgatory
The mission-and-prelude structure offers separate character stories and short mission arcs, but gives up a single continuous campaign for now. That makes the current experience episodic rather than one uninterrupted journey.
What is Graywalkers: Purgatory?
Graywalkers: Purgatory is a turn-based strategy RPG set on an island reshaped by the Rupture, an event that fused Heaven, Hell, and Earth.
As the leader of the Graywalkers, the player searches for allies and fights supernatural forces. The game currently offers two modes: missions, which can stand alone or connect into short mission chains, and preludes that tell individual characters’ stories. Travel across maps in real time; combat switches to turns, with actions governed by each unit’s Action Units. The game includes 7 character races, 10 playable paths, more than 100 abilities, and a roster of at least 40 recruitable characters. Its settings include deserts, forests, city ruins, caverns, and supernatural realms.
