Our take on Giraffe and Annika
The bounce point arrives at the boss encounters: ordinary exploration gives way to attacks timed against the music. Players who do not enjoy rhythm-based combat may stall there, even if the island exploration and memory story appeal to them.
What is Giraffe and Annika?
Giraffe and Annika follows Annika, a cat-eared heroine stranded on Spica Island after losing her memory.
Giraffe asks her to find three star fragments, leading her through island exploration, hidden mysteries, and encounters with Lily, a witch connected to Annika’s past. Combat against bosses uses rhythm mechanics: attacks must match the music’s beat. Five dungeons contain star fragments and contribute to Annika’s recovery of her memories. Cat collectibles are hidden around the island and expand a gallery that can unlock prizes. The game presents its story and setting through a 3D, manga-inspired world, with Annika accompanied by her bluebird, Pipi.
