Our take on Ghost Stories
The defining mechanic is the house’s schedule: daytime permits searching, while nighttime closes doors and awakens Max, changing the same setting into a survival scenario.
What is Ghost Stories?
Ghost Stories places the player in a deserted country-house area with no apparent way out.
The objective is to locate hidden objects and Max’s missing head. During the daytime, Max sleeps from 9 am, leaving time for searches and other tasks. After 9 pm, the house doors close and Max begins hunting. Remaining motionless can keep him from noticing the player, while lingering or exposing oneself can lead to death. After 10 pm, a bedroom door opens to reveal a safe that requires multiple keys. An old clock allows the player to check or accelerate time. The game combines exploration, item searches, hiding, running, and survival within a haunted-house setting.
How Ghost Stories plays
- 01Timed ghost activity
- Max rests from 9 am but starts pursuing the player after 9 pm, changing the risks inside the house.
- 02Object collection
- The objectives include locating concealed items, Max’s head, and several keys for the bedroom safe.
- 03Stillness-based hiding
- Remaining motionless can prevent Max from noticing the player, while delay or exposure can trigger an attack.
- 04Adjustable clock
- An old clock can display the time and speed its progress.
