Our take on Gatedelvers
Rather than limiting dungeon progress to direct combat, Gatedelvers presents alternatives such as hiding in a barrel or digging around an obstacle. Its co-op also mixes shared resources and bridge-building with the option to turn teammates into distractions.
What is Gatedelvers?
Gatedelvers is a dungeon-crawling roguelike adventure with online play for up to 4 players.
Players can fight with swords, use magic, hide in barrels, or dig tunnels to get past obstacles. Dungeons contain weapons, spells, potions, traps, treasure chests, and crabs. Weapons can be taken from defeated enemies, and unwanted items can be infused into other equipment to add bonuses.
Finding and pulling out glowing Nails grants skillcards that provide upgrades for the rest of a run, including stat boosts and changes to explosives or magic. Players can also build bridges, share healing potions, and work together through the dungeons, though the game also allows them to use teammates as distractions. Runs can end in death while players try to save the worlds.
