Our take on Garden Story
Its relaxed pace comes with less emphasis on constant combat: village requests, gardening, collecting, and rebuilding occupy much of the experience. The perish prevention option further reduces combat pressure, trading some challenge for a calmer path through the story.
What is Garden Story?
Garden Story is an action-RPG about Concord, a grape serving as the newest guardian of the Grove.
Players travel through four seasons and four regions, gather resources, solve puzzles, and combat the invasive Rot. Daily requests involve defending, restoring, and improving the village while uncovering memories connected to earlier guardians. Progress also covers garden plots, libraries, tools, structures, equipment, hats, and backpacks. The game includes community favors, musical interludes, and characters represented by fruits and vegetables. Sessions can be brief or extended, with activities available at different paces. A perish prevention option allows story progression without combat pressure and can assist with difficult enemies or boss fights.
