Our take on Garbage Day
The game replaces the usual forward-moving day structure with repetition. Familiar places and routines become part of the investigation, while retained knowledge changes later dialogue and supports different ways of behaving within the same suburban setting.
What is Garbage Day?
This open-world sandbox takes place in a suburban town after an accident at a nuclear plant leaves the player trapped in a temporal loop.
The same day repeats, while information from previous attempts remains available and influences dialogue choices. Exploration and interaction reveal the secret behind the loop and a possible way to break it. The player can go to work, watch television, visit the park, or act violently toward innocent people. Death returns the player to bed, where the day begins again. The structure supports different approaches to the repeated day, from behaving as a ruthless killer to becoming a friendly neighbor while investigating the cause of the anomaly.
