What is Ganryu 2?
Ganryu 2 is a 2D platformer set in a fantasy version of 17th-century Japan.
Players control Miyamoto Musashi as he travels from Hokkaido to Ganryu-jima to confront the spirit of Sasaki Kojiro and free it. The journey crosses spring, summer, fall, and winter environments before reaching the Floating Fortress. Musashi can dash, double-jump, wall-jump, throw kunais, and use special abilities called the Kamis against different enemies. Hanafuda cards are placed throughout the levels for collection. The game is a sequel to the 1999 Ganryu title released on NEOGEO and draws on the story of Takezo Musashi from The Stone and the Sword. Its pixel-art presentation is inspired by Shinobi 3 and Shadow Dancer.
