Our take on Free-Bees
Players may hit a wall when a failed rescue turns a bee into a ZomBee on its next death. Those seeking varied combat systems may also bounce off the recurring projectile-and-barrier structure, even with four themed worlds and adjustable speed.
What is Free-Bees?
Free-Bees is a hexagonal brick-breaker where players launch projectiles to knock bees into barriers, breaking them and releasing other bees.
Its four themed worlds draw on forest landscapes, anatomy, futuristic dystopias, and detective fiction. Each world has a Queen Bee to rescue. Bees that die and then die again become ZomBees, adding a consequence to repeated losses. Music shifts in response to play during each level. A level editor lets players alter the visual theme, layout, and music, while a sanctuary displays bees that have been freed. Options include high-contrast display, remappable controls, and adjustable game speed.
