Our take on Flynn: Son of Crimson
Its varied weapons and exploration offer different ways to approach combat, but require learning distinct attack rhythms and movement techniques. The focus on a 2D platforming structure leaves less room for open-ended play than games built around broader exploration systems.
What is Flynn: Son of Crimson?
Flynn: Son of Crimson is a 2D action platformer set across Rosantica and the hostile Scourge world.
Flynn fights creatures, explores distinct regions, collects relics, and opens new routes while pursuing the dimension’s overlord, Zealock. His companion Dex can be summoned to break heavy walls and attack enemies. Combat uses several Crimson Energy weapons: the sword supports piercing dashes and uppercuts, the axe breaks shields and brittle barriers, and the claws use rapid attacks, wall jumps, and drills. Elemental abilities based on fire, ice, and lightning become available as Flynn develops his powers. The adventure follows Flynn and Dex as they confront the spreading threat and its warrior Rozia.
