Our take on Fleeting Ages
Its permanent world changes give actions lasting weight, but they also reduce the ability to reset the setting and experiment without carrying earlier consequences forward. The broad progression across seven eras may also trade focused pacing for a larger, more open-ended survival structure.
What is Fleeting Ages?
Explore a large island that changes through seven periods, from prehistory to the Industrial era.
Survival involves gathering wood, metals, coal, plants, food, and water, then using these resources to invent tools, craft weapons and armor, and build settlements. Progress and player actions permanently alter the world, from killing animals to constructing towns. As eras shift, humans appear and develop cultures, while enemies, weapons, clothing, buildings, and available resources change. The playable character can die but does not age, and is the only supernatural being in the world. Encounters range from wild animals to advanced human civilizations using firearms. The game combines open-world exploration, survival, crafting, construction, combat, hunting, and changes to the surrounding world.
