Our take on FALLING OUT
Players who prefer fixed stages may hit a wall when temple layouts, threats, and exit locations are randomly generated. In solo play, another point of friction is switching between Giorgio and Felicie to use their different characteristics; co-op instead asks both players to work together through obstacles.
What is FALLING OUT?
FALLING OUT is a 2D roguelite platformer starring Giorgio and Felicie, an accidental adventuring couple.
Players explore randomly generated temples, choose their own paths, dodge traps, fight ancient creatures, and collect treasures and scraps. Blueprints can be decoded, and objects can be bought from the shopkeeper Azar; collected materials are used to craft weapons and other items. The game offers solo, co-op, and versus modes. In solo play, players can switch between the two characters and use their different characteristics.
Co-op requires the pair to work together through obstacles and challenges. In versus play, two players can use objects such as bananas, frying pans, landmines, and boomerangs to steal each other’s loot. Twitch Integration lets an audience affect solo or two-player progress.
