Our take on Fair Deal: Las Vegas
Rather than using newer visual effects or a broad progression structure, the game centers on side-scrolling stages, weapon pickups, and direct enemy encounters. Its five-level revenge story takes a compact arcade approach, with environmental obstacles that can be destroyed or used along the way.
What is Fair Deal: Las Vegas?
Fair Deal: Las Vegas is a 2D side-scrolling shooter with pixel-art visuals based on retro arcade techniques.
Paul Riggs, a former corrupt Detroit police officer, travels to Las Vegas to pursue the mafia boss who once paid him for violent work. The game has five handcrafted levels, with enemies, weapon cases, and environmental obstacles. Shotguns, miniguns, and other firearms can be collected and used against several enemy types. Obstacles may be destroyed or used while moving through each stage. The presentation avoids glow, particle effects, and other newer visual effects in favor of an old arcade style. The soundtrack includes music from Robert Parker, Miami Nights 1984, Daniel Deluxe, Alex, and Zero Chaotic.
