Our take on Fabric
The defining mechanic is a gun that reshapes voxel spaces: selecting tiles can remove the intervening area and compress the level, while altered gravity creates new paths.
What is Fabric?
Fabric is a first-person puzzle game built around voxel-based environments that can be reshaped with a special gun.
Reaching each level’s endpoint requires manipulating space, physics, and the arrangement of tiles rather than collecting items or crafting. Selecting two tiles removes the space between them and compresses the surrounding world. Levels also allow changes such as reversing gravity, which can make upper surfaces walkable. The game contains 60 puzzles, with the vendor estimating more than 10 hours of play. Other elements include electric cables, power fields, and additional visual glitches.
How Fabric plays
- 01Voxel World Manipulation
- The gun can remove the area between selected tiles and compress the remaining environment.
- 02Physics Alteration
- Gravity and other physical rules can be changed to create routes through the stages.
- 03Puzzle Level Structure
- Each stage combines spatial rearrangement with platforming to form its own puzzle.
- 04Sixty Puzzle Levels
- The game includes 60 distinct challenges and over 10 hours of stated gameplay.
