Our take on Event[0]
The game concentrates its narrative on one AI companion and a single spaceship setting. That focus leaves less room for a broader cast of characters or varied locations, with much of the experience built around communication, observation, and interpreting the ship’s reactions.
What is Event[0]?
Event[0] is a first-person science-fiction adventure about communicating with Kaizen, an isolated AI aboard a spacecraft, while seeking a route back to Earth.
Players enter messages through terminals, move through the vessel’s explorable 3D spaces, inspect items for information, collect clues, and complete hacking challenges. The journey may also include excursions beyond the hull. Kaizen’s responses vary with its emotional state, including gratitude, frustration, and jealousy, and the system can produce more than two million dialogue lines. Ambient audio supplies hints instead of a conventional score. Alongside the effort to reach home, the narrative uncovers the vessel’s obscure past and the culture of the 1980s that shaped it.
