What is Emberwake?
Emberwake is a 2D survival strategy game structured around alternating daylight and darkness.
Villagers collect wood, stone, and food by day, with assignments divided between gathering and meeting village demands. These supplies support construction, fortification improvements, and weapons purchased from the Mystic Merchant. After sunset, skeletons, shadow beings, and other undead converge on the village’s central campfire. Players deploy armed villagers and defensive installations to repel successive attacks. The threat rises as nighttime lasts longer and enemies become stronger, while excessive resource collection can cause shortages. Each cycle requires a choice between improving protection and risking a final expedition for supplies before nightfall.
