Our take on Elysium: Blood Games
The presentation emphasizes blood, bribery and arena drama, while the main structure is a management simulation. Combat is mediated through commands, attitudes, statistics and extensive fight text rather than continuous action.
What is Elysium: Blood Games?
Manage a group of three gladiators recruited from an ancient city and prepare them for arena competition.
Each warrior has five statistics, a profile image and a special trait, while injuries, aging, retirement, death and varied development paths shape careers. Set training priorities, negotiate contracts, draft new fighters between seasons and compete against nine other warriors. Combat supports individual commands, including lunges, defensive moves and attacks aimed at causing bleeding, or preset attitudes that let fights play out automatically. Other activities include gambling on matches, bribing opponents, advertising bouts, completing secret objectives, using brews to raise skills and purchasing more than 40 favors with Influence. Twelve match types and randomly generated warriors, brews and schedules provide variation between campaigns.
