Our take on Eaten Alive
The defining constraint is its one-life structure: death ends the run, and the game provides no saving or loading. That turns exploration and decisions into permanent commitments rather than recoverable steps in a conventional adventure campaign.
What is Eaten Alive?
Eaten Alive is a point-and-click horror adventure set six years after an apocalypse, when darkness covers the world and the dead return.
Mia explores downtown Boston and nearby locations, including derelict buildings, parks, a cemetery, sewers, a library, and a medical research facility. Puzzle and mystery elements shape the exploration, while encounters with survivors allow different choices, including helping, robbing, killing, or insulting them. The game uses permanent death: there is no saving or loading, and each playthrough gives Mia one life. Players can collect records for a jukebox, play three mini-games in Jim’s apartment, and listen to original music. The Steam edition includes the original soundtrack. Adult themes are present.
