Our take on Lotus Reverie: First Nexus
The time-management structure makes preparation part of survival, but it also limits freedom: spending time on relationships, exploration, or training means less time for other scenes before tension ends the game.
What is Lotus Reverie: First Nexus?
This visual novel follows Cinque, a girl without memories who joins survivors sheltered in a castle after most citizens vanish.
Players choose between story scenes, character-focused events, exploration, training, and study while time passes and castle tension rises. Decisions can restore memories, reveal the Incident’s mysteries, and open additional battle styles and spells. The game offers three battle approaches: Novel mode resolves fights through reading, Battle mode uses the Parallel Strategy System, and Mixed mode combines played battles with their written scenes. In these turn-based minigames, both sides plan actions before units move. The setting includes humans and tulpas whose linked lives are threatened by duels, with only one human and tulpa ultimately able to survive.
How Lotus Reverie: First Nexus plays
- 01Time-Based Scene Choices
- Main events, character interactions, exploration, training, and study compete for time while rising castle tension can end the game.
- 02Parallel Strategy Battles
- Both combatants select actions before movement begins, requiring plans based on anticipated enemy behavior.
- 03Three Battle Modes
- Novel, Battle, and Mixed modes vary whether fights are read, played, or experienced through both formats.
- 04Memory-Driven Progression
- Choices and actions uncover Cinque’s memories, world lore, mysteries, battle styles, and spells.
- 05Linked Survivor Lives
- Human hosts and their tulpas share linked survival conditions, while duels can extend their limited lifespans.
