Our take on Earth Overclocked
The short-run structure keeps each attempt focused, but limits the space for extended exploration or a lengthy narrative arc. Permanent death also means a failed attempt resets progress, although weapons, abilities, and game modes can remain unlocked.
What is Earth Overclocked?
Earth Overclocked is a twin-stick rogue-lite shooter about a scientist stranded in a collapsing parallel dimension after a failed time-travel experiment.
Each run lasts 20 minutes and combines monster fights, non-linear exploration, and time-machine reconstruction across randomly generated environments. Weapons include shotguns, boomerangs, cannons, magical swords, and cheese. Death resets the run, while weapons, abilities, and game modes can remain unlocked for later attempts. The game includes solo play and local multiplayer for up to 3 friends, with 6 environments, 4 starting classes, 2 unlockable classes, more than 40 enemy types, over 20 boss encounters, and more than 30 weapon types.

Earth Overclocked compared to similar games
Abyssus is also a roguelite shooter with multiplayer, but it uses hand-crafted levels and lets players refit brine-powered weapons with ancient technologies. Earth Overclocked instead uses randomly generated environments, supports local multiplayer for up to 3 friends, and centers each run on rebuilding a time machine within 20 minutes.
