Our take on Dungeoneers
Quick sessions and concise NPC exchanges keep the focus on dungeon encounters, at the cost of extended narrative and dialogue. Server-handled rolls and progress saving also mean play requires a continual internet connection.
What is Dungeoneers?
Dungeoneers is a turn-based dungeon crawler with hex-grid battles, attack modifiers, and poly dice.
Players explore non-linear, procedurally generated regions and choose routes based on risk and reward. Stealth, combat, or fleeing can resolve encounters with more than 125 monster types, while room layouts shape tactical choices. Runs include weapon and magic upgrades, with scrolls that create barriers, reposition a hero, grant a free action, make a hero unseen, or cast a ranged attack. Three heroes offer different combat roles and can be swapped during a quest. The game also includes daily hunts, weekly tournaments, brief NPC exchanges, and a light story. A continual internet connection is required because servers handle rolls and save progress on each move.
