Our take on DROS
Rather than centering one fixed protagonist, this adventure makes character switching its main puzzle language. Progress depends on moving between a creature built for slipping and stealth and a human shell suited to force, replacing a standard single-character toolkit with two contrasting bodies.
What is DROS?
DROS is a puzzle adventure set in the Alchemy Tower, where a small gooey creature and a human bounty hunter share a body.
Switching between them changes how obstacles can be handled: Little Dros slips through narrow spaces and uses stealth, while Captain relies on weight, strength, and physical force. The tower contains 40 distinct levels with new mechanics, enemies, and surprises. Exploration includes conversations with unusual inhabitants, hidden secrets, alchemical treasures, and diary entries that affect the ending. Players can collect Prima to gain abilities, confront unsettling creatures, and uncover the tower’s stories. After escaping, additional challenges and routes support further play, including speedrunning.
How DROS plays
- 01Dual Character Control
- Instantly alternate between Little Dros and Captain to approach obstacles through different abilities.
- 02Contrasting Playstyles
- Stealth-focused movement and direct physical force provide separate ways to handle danger and puzzles.
- 03Forty Distinct Levels
- The tower is divided into 40 stages containing changing mechanics, enemies, and surprises.
- 04Branching Endings
- Finding diary entries can alter the outcome of the story.
- 05Postgame Challenges
- Extra challenges remain after the main escape.
- 06Speedrun Routes
- Hidden paths and compact level layouts support timed runs.
