Our take on Dreamcore
The store page frames Dreamcore as a vast liminal world, but its structure is a collection of standalone levels. That makes the experience broader in setting than in continuous narrative or progression, with exploration carrying most of the play.
What is Dreamcore?
Explore a series of surreal backrooms and liminal spaces without guides, directions, or a set path.
Dreamcore presents standalone levels including endless pools, looping suburban homes, silent play areas, an unstable hotel, and an uncanny shopping mall. Progress depends on observing surroundings and finding a way through each environment. The levels use environmental details such as changing day and night cycles, elevators, artificial lighting, distant water sounds, vintage jazz, and maze-like layouts to create unease. Two additional maps have already been added, while another is in development. Early players receive future maps without an extra charge.
How Dreamcore plays
- 01Standalone Levels
- Each map provides a separate exploration experience with its own setting and atmosphere.
- 02Unstructured Progression
- The game provides no guides or clear route, leaving advancement to observation and intuition.
- 03Five Environments
- Locations include pools, a suburb, playrooms, a hotel, and a shopping mall.
- 04Environmental Unease
- Lighting, sound, looping spaces, time cycles, and empty interiors shape the atmosphere.
- 05Future Maps Included
