Our take on Sensorium
Rather than guiding players through a conventional sequence of objectives, Sensorium makes uncertainty part of its structure. Its puzzles are tied to the five senses, while exploration and clue assembly replace explicit explanations of the world and its rules.
What is Sensorium?
Sensorium is a small open-world puzzle adventure built around five senses: touch, taste, sight, smell, and hearing.
After lightning transports the player to an abandoned but familiar place, exploration becomes the main way forward. The game offers no stated route or task, so progress comes from examining the environment, solving sensory puzzles, and assembling clues about the world and a possible way home. Its Myst-vania structure leaves systems and events largely unexplained, making discovery, experimentation, and interpretation central to the experience.
How Sensorium plays
- 01Sensory Puzzles
- Challenges draw on touch, taste, sight, smell, and hearing.
- 02Open-World Exploration
- The abandoned setting provides an environment to investigate without a stated route.
- 03Clue-Based Discovery
- Progress involves learning how the world works and connecting clues about its events.
