Our take on Dragonero
Rather than presenting a single fixed hero and linear campaign, Dragonero divides its opening story among five protagonists before converging on a shared adventure. Its open-world travel also combines authored locations with procedurally generated dungeons, adding variation to a classic turn-based RPG structure.
What is Dragonero?
Dragonero is a turn-based RPG set in the comic book-inspired fantasy world of Erondàr.
The game follows five heroes—Ian, Gmor, Myrva, Alben, and Sera—through individual character stories before bringing them together in a larger adventure. Players explore an open world, plan journeys around events, and enter more than ten settings containing handcrafted and procedurally generated dungeons. Combat requires selecting abilities, using special items, and coordinating party actions against enemies. Exploration and fighting increase hero fatigue, so rests and restorative items are part of the journey. The story centers on a threat called Draquir and the struggle to protect Erondàr.
How Dragonero plays
- 01Five Playable Heroes
- Separate character paths lead into a shared main adventure featuring Ian, Gmor, Myrva, Alben, and Sera.
- 02Tactical Turn-Based Battles
- Players choose abilities, deploy distinctive items, and coordinate actions to defeat opponents.
- 03Mixed Dungeon Generation
- The world contains both developer-created and procedurally assembled dungeons with changing challenges and treasures.
- 04Hero Fatigue Management
- Travel and combat tire the heroes, requiring rests and items that restore their energy.
- 05Open-World Journeys
- Exploration across Erondàr includes events and more than ten different settings.
Dragonero compared to similar games
