Our take on Divine Divinity
The store emphasis on an enormous world, thousands of items, and a 100-hour adventure gives scale more attention than moment-to-moment structure. The game also combines real-time combat with pausing, so its pace shifts between fast action and deliberate battlefield management.
What is Divine Divinity?
Divine Divinity is a fantasy RPG built around exploration, non-linear quests, and real-time hack-and-slash combat.
The story follows the Chosen One, guided by the wizard Zandalor, on a mission to unite Rivellon's seven races and prevent the birth of the Lord of Chaos. Character development is classless: players begin as a warrior, wizard, or survivor, then select from 96 skills regardless of starting class. Combat includes pause-and-plan functionality, while objects found throughout the world can be investigated, traded, used, combined, or turned into potions and weapon coatings. The adventure is stated to last over 100 hours and includes dozens of enemy types, thousands of items, and music by Kirill Pokrovsky.
How Divine Divinity plays

- 03Item experimentation
- Objects can be investigated, traded, combined, or used to create potions and coat blades or arrow tips.
- 04Non-linear questing
- The stated adventure lasts over 100 hours and includes quests with non-linear progression.
- 05Remastered display support
- The remastered edition supports Windows 7 and higher resolutions.
