StrategyIs Deus Novum worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- God-game players who want village management combined with direct creature training
- Strategy players who enjoy expanding across multiple islands while defending settlements
- Players seeking a 6–8 hour fantasy campaign with miracles, construction, and combat
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a long campaign, since the stated content covers three islands and 6–8 hours
- Players who prefer a single focused system rather than switching among settlement building, creature training, miracles, and defense
- Players looking for a conventional human protagonist, since the playable role is a god whose mortal-world connection is a creature
Our take on Deus Novum
Rather than limiting god-game play to distant intervention, it links divine powers to a creature that can be trained, commanded, and used in mortal-world conflicts. Village conversion, construction, and defense sit alongside direct creature behavior management.
What is Deus Novum?
Play as a newly born god whose connection to the mortal world lives inside a creature.
Expand from one village per island by converting human settlements, defeating evil villages, and taking control of the map. Villagers provide skill points and prayer power for unlocking and casting miracles, while flora, fauna, or villagers can also be sacrificed for power. Train an ape, panther, turtle, or bear by modeling behavior and reinforcing it with rewards or punishment. A leash enables direct commands for movement, carrying objects, and combat. Rebuild settlements with houses, schools, altars, and other structures, then defend them from raids that can kidnap children, burn supplies, and damage buildings. The game includes three islands and 6–8 hours of gameplay.
How Deus Novum plays

- An ape, panther, turtle, or bear learns behaviors by observing actions and receiving pets or punishment.

- 03Village expansion
- Each island begins with one settlement that can grow through construction and the capture or conversion of other villages.
- 04Direct creature control
- A leash allows commands for movement, object handling, and fighting.
- 05Settlement defense
- Hostile forces may seize children, torch crops and storage sites, wreck structures, and bring dangerous creatures into their assaults.
