Our take on DeathWatchers
The emphasis on varied equipment and paranormal discovery understates the repeated preparation involved: players must buy and arrange gear, monitor locations, record events, infer ingredients, and then perform the ritual while avoiding threats.
What is DeathWatchers?
DeathWatchers is an online co-op horror game for one to four players.
Players purchase and arrange investigative equipment, monitor locations through a tablet, adjust lighting, photograph areas, and record paranormal events with an event logger. Evidence from different events reveals the ingredients required for a banishing ritual. Players then assemble the ritual and attempt to remove the entity, while incorrect ingredients can prevent escape. The game combines ghost hunting with spot-the-difference-style observation and includes multiple locations that support its game modes. Players can hide from threats, create a character, follow interactive video tutorials, use varied equipment, and connect the game with Twitch. All modes support solo play or groups of up to four.
