Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking relaxed action may hit a wall when the bullet-hell combat demands constant projectile avoidance.
- Those who prefer a fixed, linear campaign may bounce off the nonlinear route and difficulty choices.
- Players looking for exploration-focused adventure may find the stage-based shooting structure too narrow.
Our take on Deathsmiles
Players may bounce off when the bullet-hell patterns require constant projectile avoidance and the Counter system adds another combat demand. Those seeking a fixed campaign can hit a second wall at the route and difficulty selections between stages.
What is Deathsmiles?
Deathsmiles is a horizontally scrolling bullet-hell shooter set in Gilverado, a magical land facing an invasion from Hell.
Players take the role of one of five angels, each with a faithful familiar, and battle ghosts, demons, man-eating plants, and giant cattle across gothic horror-themed stages. The game includes six modes, including Mega Black Label mode. Players can select their route through a variety of stages and choose the difficulty through nonlinear progression. Combat features a Counter system alongside the bullet-hell shooting. Local cooperative play supports two players, allowing a friend to join the fight against the invading forces. The game’s structure combines selectable paths, multiple modes, character choice, and demanding projectile-based action.
