Our take on DeathKeep
The dungeon-focused structure keeps the journey within a narrow set of environments: frozen caverns, towers, and other dungeons. Character choice changes the cinematics, but the described variety comes mainly from the dungeon spaces, monsters, traps, and puzzles.
What is DeathKeep?
An escaped necromancer is causing havoc across a frozen wasteland.
Players journey through more than 25 dungeons, each with 8 floors, including icy caverns, three towers, and a final dungeon. Combat includes over 30 monster types, among them Tanar’ri, Mephits, and Golems. Exploration also involves traps and puzzles. Jumping and flying add movement options, though falls remain a hazard. The 3D environment allows views in every direction and shows creatures in natural perspective. Players can choose a male dwarf fighter, a male half-elf fighter-mage, or a female elf mage. Cinematics change based on the selected character.

DeathKeep compared to similar games
DeathKeep focuses on dungeon exploration, combat, traps, and puzzles. Ghost of a Tale instead emphasizes exploration, stealth, disguises, and conversations in a medieval world populated by animals. Vagante is also set in a dark fantasy world with monsters, but its description centers on adventurers seeking fame, riches, and power.
