We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Platforming fans who want first-person movement through hazardous levels
- Players who enjoy searching for hidden passages and story fragments
- Speedrun players who want online time rankings with friends
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players looking for a slow, low-pressure climb may find the lasers, robots, and movement challenges demanding.
- Those who prefer open-ended exploration may find the tower’s upward route and progression through unlockable areas restrictive.
- Players seeking multiplayer combat should look elsewhere; the online feature described is a Speedrun leaderboard.
Our take on DeadCore
The movement and hazard focus gives the climb a clear test of timing and control, but leaves less room for a relaxed pace. Exploration is tied to ascending the tower and finding fragments, while speedrun competition centers on recorded times.
What is DeadCore?
DeadCore combines platforming, exploration, and first-person shooting in a climb through a huge tower.
After waking with no memory in a foggy world, players move upward through levels filled with passages to explore, mechanisms, lasers, and tracking robots. Jumping, double-jumping, and dashing are used to cross the tower, while the SwitchGun can activate or deactivate traps and robots. Finding memory fragments reveals parts of the tower’s history. Powers and upgrades open access to additional areas. Speedrun mode adds online leaderboards where friends can compare times, and collecting memory fragments also unlocks levels and music for that mode.
