Our take on Dead Signal
The defining structure is the split night shift: camera surveillance must continue while timed package runs pull the player away from the apartment, leaving both work duties and personal safety active at once.
What is Dead Signal?
Dead Signal combines surveillance work, timed deliveries, and survival during a night shift.
The player monitors 23 camera feeds, identifies changes, and assigns report categories to meet an hourly quota. Camera repairs and connection failures can interrupt this work and require attention. Deliveries send the player from an apartment to the roof and other parts of the complex, while an unlocked apartment can allow unwanted visitors inside. Returning requires entering a generated keypad code to secure the door. Danger can arise throughout the complex, so monitoring the cameras and watching the immediate surroundings are both part of surviving until morning. The story places this work within ViVEX, an organization operating a network of hacked and hidden cameras.
How Dead Signal plays
- 01Camera Quota Work
- Hourly progress depends on finding changes across 23 feeds and assigning the matching report category.
- 02Timed Deliveries
- Package jobs require leaving the apartment and moving through the complex before time runs out.
- 03Apartment Security
- The door must be secured with a generated keypad code after returning from outside.
- 04Technical Interruptions
- Remote repairs and satellite connection faults can interrupt surveillance duties.
